Hello and welcome to the King’s Lynn Film Festival.
We are all very excited to be launching the film festival, and we hope that you will be excited too!
Our programme is based around the theme of food, recalling the important role that King’s Lynn has played both as a fishing port and an important centre for agriculture over the centuries.
We hope our programme offers something for everyone — from a gala launch recreating a trip to the cinema 100 years ago, screenings of world cinema classics, popular animation “Ratatouille” and a young persons’ film-making workshop.
Our aim is to give the people of West Norfolk a chance to embrace film as an art form and to enjoy a wider range of cinematic offerings.
We would especially like to thank all our sponsors for their generosity in making this event possible and everyone who has volunteered their valuable time to help us stage this festival — without you all we wouldn’t have made it.
This might be our first film festival, but we hope with your support it won’t be the last. We would love to establish the film festival to add to the other offerings on the local calendar, enhancing the reputation of King’s Lynn as ‘the Festival Town’.
